Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputy Kevin Osika stopped Putnam Valley resident Jason Rohrig at approximately 3:50 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 30, near the intersection, when he was spotted committing multiple traffic violations in the area.
Osika conducted a traffic stop, during which it was determined that Rohrig, 32, was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol. Further investigation found that he was also in possession of cocaine during the stop, and he was taken into custody.
Rohrig was arrested and transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility, where he was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content greater than .08 percent and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Following his processing, Rohrig was released and is due back in the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court at a later date to answer the charges.
