Lake Carmel firefighters, with help from Kent, Carmel and Mahopac, took out the fire at about 20 minutes but not before the house in Gypsy Trail Club was rendered uninhabitable. Fire officials said it appears to have started as workers were cutting pipe near the front of the house, lohud.com says.
