On Monday, April 10, state police troopers conducted a routine traffic stop of Wilton resident Alexander Orsher on Main Street in Brewster. During the stop, it was reported that troopers observed a strong odor of marijuana emanating from his vehicle, and there was marijuana on his shirt and stuck in his teeth.
According to state police, Orsher stated that he had eaten a marijuana cigarette in an effort to conceal it from the troopers. Subsequent Standardized Field Sobriety Tests determined that Orsher was operating his vehicle under the influence of drugs.
Orsher was arrested and charged with a felony count of tampering with physical evidence, operating a motor vehicle while ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was issued appearance tickets and is due back in Village of Brewster Court on Tuesday, April 18.
