Santino Pietrosani, 55, of Shear Hill Road, Mahopac, also has a temporary order of protection against him, police said. In a statement, Sheriff Donald B. Smith said the arrest follows an investigation into the Jan. 20 incident at Tilly Foster Farm along Route 312 in Southeast.
Police got a report that a man fired the nail gun at another man during an argument over a ladder. Both men work for the Putnam County Highway Department, police said.
Pietrosani is accused of firing several 3-inch nails at the other man, nearly striking him in the head, police said.
The defendant was arraigned before Town of Kent Justice Kevin Douchkoff on behalf of the Town of Southeast, and released in his own recognizance, pending a future court date, police said.
If found guilty of the misdemeanor charges, he could face up to a year in jail, along with a fine of up to $1,000 for each charge, police said.
