Police said that shortly before 2:45 a.m. on Sunday morning, troopers stopped Danbury resident Tiela Taft on Route 6 in Southeast after she was spotted making a vehicle and traffic law violation.

During the subsequent stop, troopers said that there was the strong odor of alcohol on Taft’s breath, and the smell of marijuana was detected inside the vehicle. While speaking with police, troopers said Taft “gave several names and birth dates despite being warned of the consequences.”

Further investigation determined that Taft was in possession of 3.92 grams of marijuana and her blood alcohol content was greater than .18 percent. Taft was arrested and charged with misdemeanor counts of false personation and aggravated driving while intoxicated. She was also cited for unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Following arraignment, Taft was remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 property bond. She is due to appear in the Town of Southeast Court and is due back in court on April 10 to answer the charges.
