A hazardous weather outlook issued Monday for sections of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut is expected to remain in place through the week as Tropical Storm Joaquin makes its way along the coast.
Forecasters were expecting 1 to 2 inches of rain to fall over much of the region Tuesday night into Wednesday morning with some minor flooding possible in urban and low-lying areas, according to the weather service.
Whether and where Joaquin will make landfall was still a source of speculation Tuesday night, but forecasters do expect the system to continue to bring rain through at least Monday.
