A truck driver en route from Massachusetts to Pennsylvania hit a ladder on southbound side and spilled nearly 100 of gallons of fuel on to the road shortly after 6 p.m.
News 12 reports that the driver said that he saw the object but that he didn't have time to go around the object and ended up driving over it.
A hazmat team was called and the road was closed for a period time.
