“There isn’t a second when nobody is laughing," said cast member Andrew DiFabbio.
Abbott's play gives a comedic look at both the on and offstage antics of a community theater group and the trails and challenges they endure.
Cast members include Sarah Borsari, Taylor Byrne, Megan Campbell, Jacqueline Carey, Maudie Carey, Jennifer DeSantis, Carly Guida, Cecilia Guida, Ryan Hecht, Grace Lara, Joe Likens, Max Likens, Macie Marinich, Martina Rossi, Alanna Walsh of Brewster; Sarah Daleo, Andrew DiFabbio and Erin Vaughan of Patterson; Sasha Rubeo of Carmel; and Emma Duffy of New Fairfield, Conn.
Some of the actors will play roles in both "Play On!" and the play within a play "Murder Most Foul."
“These students are working hard during rehearsal and independently at home, but I don't think they see it as work," said director Margaret Carey. "They laugh, smile and relish acting like an actor.”
Bluestone Farm and Living Arts Center (118 Federal Hill Road) will host "Play On!" on Oct. 15, 16 and 17 at 7:30 p.m. There also will be a special matinee on Oct. 17 at 2 p.m.
