Village Clerk Pauline Minners, who provided the results, said Corless received 131 votes.
David Moroney, who was the write-in candidate, received 35 votes, the clerk said.
There were no absentee ballots cast for the mayoral race, Minners said.
Nelsonville's village board races are non-partisan. This means, Minners said, candidates have their own parties. Corless was running on the Crown Party line, Minners said.
The clear outcome of the mayor's race was in stark contrast to the election for a trustee seat, which ended in a tie. Trustee candidates Thomas Robertson and Danielle Pack McCarthy each received 90 votes, said Minners, who plans to contact the Putnam County Board of Elections to find out what to do next.
Nelsonville's village board is smaller than that of its peers, with just three members. The board includes the mayor and two trustees.
