NASA Rocket Launch May Be Visible To Putnam Residents

PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- Putnam County residents may have the opportunity to view a NASA Orbital Sciences Antares rocket and Cygnus spacecraft on Monday in their own backyard around 5:45 p.m., according a report by Space.com.

The launch is the first-ever night launch of the two-stage Antares rocket and the flight could be visible from Massachusetts to South Carolina, according to the report. 

The rocket will carry approximately 5,050 pounds of cargo, the heaviest load delivered by a Cygnus to the International Space Station, according to NASA.gov.
