Motorists Charged With Violations On Routes 9, 22

PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Putnam County Sheriff's Department recently arrested two motorists on charges of unlicensed operation, according to police.

Deputy Sheriff William Quick stopped a motorist on a traffic violation on Route 9 in the Town of Philipstown on Feb. 25. The deputy determined that the driver, identified as Adriano Puwainchir, of 214 Lafayette St., Cortlandt Manor, had a suspended license.

Puwainchir was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the 2nd degree, a misdemeanor.

The defendant was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and released after posting $250 cash bail pending a March 25 appearance in the Town of Philipstown Justice Court to answer the charge, according to police.

Deputy Sheriff Thomas Lee stopped a motorist who had committed traffic violations on Route 22 in the Town of Southeast on Feb. 28. The deputy determined that the driver, identified as Noemi Botta, 26, of 2 Queensbury Road, Patterson, had a suspended license. Botta was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the 3rd degree, a misdemeanor.

The defendant was processed at the scene and released pending an April 2 appearance in the Town of Southeast Justice Court to answer the charge.
