Hamidullah A. Ward, of Saugerties, N.Y., was charged with driving with a suspended license and second-degree unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, according to police.

The charges stemmed from a March 12 traffic stop, during which a Putnam County sheriff’s deputy said he discovered that Ward was driving without the use of a court-ordered interlocking device.

Ward held in the Putnam County Correctional Facility under a $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond.

He will answer to the charges, which could put him behind bars for up to a year, at a to-be-scheduled date in the Town of Patterson Justice Court.
