The storm currently sits to the east of the Bahamas in the Atlantic and some forecast models suggest the storm could crawl up the east coast and make landfall anywhere between North Carolina and Maine. Other forecast models have the storm making a turn away from the coast and heading out to sea. The possible path of Joaquin remains uncertain at this time, weather.com reported.
Current weather conditions closer to home have prompted the National Weather Service to issue a coastal flood warning for areas along Long Island sound. Localized flooding could coincide with high tide in the early afternoon.
