Free Rabies Vaccine Clinic Offered For Putnam Pets

PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- Residents are asked to bring in dogs, cats and ferrets to a free vaccination clinic on Saturday, March 21, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Sponsored by the Putnam County Department of Health, the clinic will be held at South Putnam Animal Hospital, 230B Baldwin Place Road, Mahopac, and is open to all Putnam County residents.

Bring photo ID as proof of Putnam County residency with written proof of prior rabies vaccination. Tags are not acceptable. If you do not have a written certificate documenting prior rabies vaccination, your pet will receive a one-year rabies vaccine.

All dogs must be leashed and well-controlled and cats and ferrets must be in carriers.

An animal information/release form will be available and may be completed at the clinic site.
