Westchester Student Finalist In MSNBC's 'Morning Joe' Know Your Value Event

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Jill McDermott of Tuckahoe is a finalist in a nationwide contest by MSNBC's "Morning Joe" co-host Mika Brzezinski.

Participants submitted a 60-second video telling Brzezinski why they deserved a bonus. McDermott is one of three finalists personally selected by Brzezinski for the Friday, Oct. 23 event on the Know Your Value tour.

Each finalist will get to make their pitch live onstage for a chance to win $10,000.

Brzezinski recently authored the book "Knowing Your Value: Women, Money and Getting What You're Worth."

McDermott, 21, attends Westchester Community College.
