Mahopac Library Hosting Reading With Therapy Dog

PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Mahopac Public Library will hold a special Animal Reading Friends event, where children will read to a friendly, well-trained therapy dog to build their confidence and make reading a fun activity.

Reading to an animal is less stressful than reading to an adult. Children of all ages are not only learning to read, but they're looking forward to it.

The event will be from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 9 and is by appointment only. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call Joan at (845) 628-2009, ext. 135. The activity will be in the Garden View Activity Room (children's area) of the Mahopac Public Library.
