Cardinal Dolan Helps Yorktown Celebrate Feast Of San Gennaro
YORKTOWN, N.Y. – Yorktown’s annual block party, the Feast of San Gennaro, was blessed with a visit from Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the archbishop of New York.
Dolan strolled among the crowds and posed for photos Saturday with Msgr. Joseph Giandurco, who he had just installed as pastor of Saint Patrick’s Church.
Other highlights of the four-day event included: traditional Italian foods such as zeppoles and sausage and pepper, a ferris wheel, red, green and white light arches, a procession with a statue of the saint, and performances from live bands.

Patterson Rotary Hosts Annual BBQ, Blues Festival
PATTERSON, N.Y. -- The Fifth Annual Patterson Blues & BBQ Festival will be held this weekend at the Patterson Firehouse from noon to 7 p.m.The festival, which brings combines the best of the blues and barbecue, is a way to celebrate the end of the summer.
Saturday's event will feature a full blues lineup that includes Fade to Blues, Dylan Doyle Band, and Arthur James, among others.

Arts On The Lake Celebrates 10th Anniversary With '60s-Themed Fundraiser
KENT, N.Y. -- Arts on the Lake will celebrate its 10th anniversary during its annual fundraiser, themed "Flashback to the '60s," on Saturday, Sept. 17, at Sedgewood Boathouse in Kent at 5:30 p.m.The fundraiser will reflect on the 1960s, remembering the art, the music and the power of change, according to a release from Arts on the Lake. There will also be a silent auction in which guests can bid on interesting and/or rare items.
