A person was critically injured in a crash involving an SUV on Long Island. It happened Tuesday, Nov. 26, at about 1:50 p.m. on Post Avenue near Atlantic Avenue in North Bellport. Suffolk County Police said a 44-year-old Bellport woman, was driving a 2007 GMC Envoy northbound when she apparently suffered a medical event and struck a bicyclist crossing the road. A man police described as "agitated" died shortly after being handcuffed and subdued on Long Island. The incident happened just before 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, in Wyandanch. A 911 call reported the man, possibly intoxicated, lying on the ground on Merritt Avenue, according to Suffolk County Police.
