Drunk Driver Plows Through Salon On Long Island, Police Say
A Long Island business was heavily damaged by an alleged drunk driver. The incident happened in New Hyde Park, at the Touch of Class II salon on Jericho Turnpike, at around 1:15 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27. Nassau County Police said officers arrived to find an unoccupied Acura sedan just outside the building’s front exterior. The impact shattered two large windows and toppled part of a brick wall. A teenager was killed after a compact SUV crashed into a tree overnight on Long Island. The incident happened around 2:20 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 22 in Merrick. The teen, a 17-year-old boy, was operating a 2021 Honda CRV traveling southbound on Merrick Avenue when the incident happened. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
