34-Year-Old Dies From Injuries Month After Long Island Crash A man critically injured in a fiery crash on Long Island has died from his injuries, authorities announced Monday morning, Nov. 11. Richard Sorrentino, age 34, of Queens, was pronounced dead by hospital staff on Friday, Nov. 8, Nassau County Police said. The crash happened on Saturday, Oct. 12, around 6:55 p.m. in Bellmore. Sorrentino was riding a black motorcycle westbound on Sunrise Highway near Rose Place when he struck a bicyclist attempting to cross the roadway.
