Nationwide Cheese Recall: Several Hospitalized Amid E. Coli Outbreak A food-safety investigation has prompted a nationwide warning, with consumers urged to check refrigerators and freezers for a long-shelf-life grocery product. The FDA said Tuesday, Sept. 29, that 13 people in nine states have been sickened in an ongoing E. coli O26:H11 outbreak linked to recalled Sierra Nevada Graziers grass-fed raw milk cheese.  Eight people have been hospitalized, and three have developed hemolytic uremic syndrome, a serious form of kidney failure.
