Man Faces Attempted Murder Charge After Shooting Outside Long Island Casino
A local man has been indicted for shooting a victim twice at close range in the parking lot of a Long Island casino.
The incident happened on Friday, May 31, at approximately 10:15 p.m. in Islandia.
Nashawn Legros, age 24, of Wyandanch, was indicted for attempted murder, assault, and other related charges, for the incident at Jake’s 58 Casino, causing the victim serious physical injuries.
According to court filings, Legros was in a parked vehicle when he observed the victim walking toward the casino entrance.

2 Store Clerks Accused Of Selling Alcohol To Minors During Long Island Compliance Check
Two Long Island businesses were cited for allegedly selling alcohol to minors.
Compliance checks were conducted at 19 retail vendors throughout the Town of Riverhead on Tuesday, Aug. 20.
The operation targeted the sale of alcohol products to patrons under the age of 21.

25-Year-Old Long Island Man Drove Drunk With Girl In SUV: Police
A Long Island man has been accused of driving drunk with a child inside an SUV overnight.
The incident happened around 12:45 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, in Riverhead, in the area of East Avenue and East Main Street.
Upon investigation, the operator of a 2012 GMC Acadia, identified as Tony Garcia-Rivera, age 25, of Shirley, was found to be intoxicated and had a 15-year-old girl inside of his vehicle, the Riverhead Town Police Department said.

Huntington Station Man Killed In Head-On Aquebogue Crash
One person was killed in a head-on crash on Long Island.
It happened around 11:45 a.m. Friday, July 19, in Suffolk County on Main Road, east of Union Avenue in Aquebogue.
A 2018 BMW, operated by New York City resident Anthony Croce, age 65, of Brooklyn, collided head-on with a 2002 Nissan, operated by Matthew Schramm, age 67, of Huntington Station, Riverhead Police said.
Schramm, who suffered extensive injuries, was rushed to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, where he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.

A Long Island man was nabbed for reckless driving after allegedly causing three crashes as he fled from police.
The incident occurred in Riverhead around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, at Osborn Avenue and Lincoln Street.
According to Riverhead Police, officers responded to a report of a 2006 Acura sedan driving at a high rate of speed, putting other drivers at risk.
