Fire Destroys Home In Hudson Valley
Wayward fireworks may have started a fire that destroyed a 3,000-square-foot home in the Hudson Valley. The fire started in Orange County in the town of Goshen around 10 p.m., Monday, July 4 at a two-story home on Corral Lane in the Harness Estates development. According to Goshen Assistant Fire Chief Peter Easop, firefighters arrived on the scene within four minutes and found the home fully engulfed in flames. New York State Police To Monitor Illegal Fireworks Crossing Border
As fireworks continue to blast at all hours of the night throughout New York, State Police troopers have been tasked with keeping a closer eye on potentially illegal products crossing into the state. Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that he is directing New York State Police to launch a Fireworks Enforcement Detail to prevent illegal fireworks from being brought into the state. Man Nabbed With Illegal Fireworks After I-84 Stop, State Police Say
A speeding stop on I-84 in the Hudson Valley led to the arrest of a 51-year-old man in possession of illegal fireworks, State Police said. Troopers stopped Saratoga County resident Matthew Zullo, of Mechanicville, on Monday, June 29 in Greene County the town of Greenville when he was clocked driving 86 mph in a 55 mph zone, according to police.
