Man From Region Headed To Prison For Sexually Abusing Child A man has been sentenced to prison for sexually abusing a child under the age of 13 in the region. Sullivan County resident Anthony Villegas, 49, of Monticello, pleaded guilty and was sentenced in Orange County Court to nine years in prison, followed by 10 years of post-release supervision. Duo Nabbed After Driver Held At Gunpoint In Capital Region, Police Say Two people have been charged after they allegedly held a taxi driver in the Capital Region at knifepoint and stole money, causing injuries. Schoharie County residents James R. Parker, age 26, and Nicole Zielinski, age 50, both of Cobleskill, were charged on Wednesday, Nov. 13. Some Police Services To Be Cut By Village In Region Residents of a village in the region were informed of a police service cut only two days before it took effect. The change is taking place in Dutchess County. Man From Region Nabbed On 6 Counts Of Rape Of Minor, Police Say A man is behind bars for allegedly engaging in sexual conduct with a 15-year-old girl in the region. Ulster County resident Tito Nunez-Hernandez, age 32, of Lake Katrine, was charged with six counts of rape on Tuesday, Nov. 12. According to Ulster Police Department Chief Kyle Berardi, the department received a complaint regarding sexual contact between the two on Thursday, Nov. 7, and began an investigation. 1 Killed, 1 Hospitalized In Chain-Reaction Crash In Region One person was killed and another injured when a Nissan van traveling north on a busy stretch of I-87 rear-ended a bobtail 2016 Freightliner tractor-trailer that was slowed in the right lane of traffic.  The collision occurred in Orange County at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 13, in the town of Woodbury. According to New York State Trooper Sgt. Jack Keller, an approaching work zone for line stripping, caused the slow traffic. The collision pushed the tractor-trailer forward and into the rear of a 1997 Freightliner tractor-trailer. The driver of the van was pronounced dead at the scene. …
