On Long Island, a Suffolk County grand jury charged 32-year-old Kerri Bedrick, of Centerport, with second-degree murder and related charges on Wednesday, Sept. 4. 18-Year-Old Killed In Head-On Crash In Hudson Valley An 18-year-old  man was killed during a head-on crash in the region. The incident occurred in Dutchess County at 12:25 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31, at the intersection of Route 343 and Altamont Road in the town of Washington (Millbrook). According to Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police, Blaine M. Hadden, age 18, of Millbrook, was driving a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 westbound on Route 343 when he entered the eastbound lane and struck a 2004 Toyota Tundra head-on. Car Flips On Roof In Crash In Hudson Valley A car overturned following a crash on a road in the region. The incident happened just after 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3, in Northern Westchester when the car flipped on the eastern half of Colabaugh Pond Road in Croton-on-Hudson, according to the village's fire department. Arriving first responders found that the driver had managed to escape the vehicle on his own.  The driver later declined a trip to the hospital after being evaluated.  The cause of the crash was not released.

The incident occurred in Ulster County around 9 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 29, in the town of Woodstock near the intersection of Maverick Road. Fallen Detective From Hudson Valley Was About To Be A Grandfather Richard Cunningham was a decorated police officer, but he's being remembered for his work outside of uniform following his sudden death last week.  Northern Westchester resident Cunningham, age 60, of Peekskill, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Aug. 31. He had been serving as a detective with the Greenburgh Police Department. He left behind a wife and three adult children. His obituary said that at the time of his death, Cunningham was about to become a grandfather. Crash Temporarily Closes Stretch Of Roadway In Hudson Valley A crash that left a vehicle on its side in the Hudson Valley caused a brief road closure.  The incident happened in Putnam County on Tuesday, Sept. 3 around 12:50 p.m., when a vehicle flipped on Myrtle Avenue in Mahopac, eventually coming to a rest next to a pole, according to Carmel Police. The crash caused Myrtle Avenue to close between Carmine Drive and Potter Road for around 20 minutes as crews worked to clear the scene.  The roadway reopened around 1:10 p.m. The cause of the crash was not released.
