Traffic Stop Turns Into Felony Charges For Nassau County Driver: Police
A routine traffic stop on Long Island ended with felony charges for a Massachusetts man on Wednesday, May 20 after cops found an illegal gun in the car, police said.
Steven Raymond, 25, was merging onto the Northern State Parkway in Carle Place while driving a black 2011 Chevrolet Silverado but failed to use his turn signal, the Nassau County Police Department said.
When cops pulled Raymond over around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, they found a loaded handgun and two switchblade knives in the vehicle, authorities said.

A Pennsylvania man wanted on more than a dozen child-sex-assault charges and a New Jersey man wanted on felony drug charges were arrested together after a traffic stop in New York, the sheriff’s office announced on Thursday, Nov. 13.

A Manhattan man is facing federal charges after authorities found more than 33 pounds of cocaine hidden inside a secret compartment of his car during a Hudson Valley traffic stop, prosecutors alleged.
Eddie Ruiz, 47, was arrested Friday, Aug. 29, following a Sullivan County traffic stop in the town of Mamakating, according to the US Attorney’s Office.
During the stop, an officer noted “suspicious behavior” by Ruiz and checked his vehicle with a drug-sniffing dog.

Nicholas Braun, best known as Cousin Greg on HBO’s Succession, was charged in New England on suspicion of driving under the influence after a late-night traffic stop over Labor Day weekend, authorities said.
TMZ first reported that police in Moultonborough, New Hampshire pulled Braun over Friday night, Aug. 29, and booked him into the Carroll County lockup for about an hour before releasing him on his own recognizance. A traffic stop in Dutchess County led to the arrest of a Long Island man after police said they discovered more than a pound of cocaine in his vehicle.
The arrest happened at around 3 p.m. on Monday, August 4, when troopers pulled over a 2024 Toyota traveling northbound on the Taconic State Parkway in the Town of East Fishkill for vehicle and traffic violations, New York State Police said in an announcement on Tuesday, Aug. 5.

A child who vanished from Georgia more than a year ago has been safely found in Connecticut after a traffic stop unraveled a disturbing case of custody interference, authorities said.
The child’s mother, who did not have legal custody, fled with the child during a scheduled visit on October 23, 2023, violating a court order from Cobb County, Georgia, according to the US Marshals Service.
