Dave Portnoy’s tour of Long Island pizzerias continued with a trip to Mike’s Underground Pizza in Amityville, which he reviewed in a video shared Tuesday, April 21.
Portnoy, the Barstool Sports founder and notorious Long Island pizza hater, had recently been charmed by Nico’s Charred Pizza Pies in Syosset, which he gave an 8.2 in a Wednesday, April 15 video.
Despite his skepticism, Portnoy revealed he’d been previously told about Mike’s Underground and drove 30 minutes out of his way to try it.
“This is crispy and very good,” Portnoy said. “Little thicker [than Nico’s], but still really, r…

Hot Slice, Hot Mic: Dave Portnoy Won’t Dish On Fitness Regimen After NY Pizza Review
Dave Portnoy’s latest New York pizza review was heavy on the flavor but light on the waistline wisdom.
The Barstool Sports founder, 48, found himself at Warren County’s Pizza Jerks in Glens Falls for his latest “One Bite” review.
It started with Portnoy flipping open the box. “That looks pretty good. That’s really good,” he said, noting the pie was “very hot” with a “decent amount of flop.”
When he tried to lift a slice, the heat got the best of him. Portnoy dropped it, picked it up again, and gave it a few quick blows to cool it down. One bite from the tip, another from the crust end, an…
