The New York man behind the wheel when an NYPD officer was shot dead has learned his fate, authorities announced Tuesday, July 14.
Lindy Jones, 44, was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to weapons possession, the Queens District Attorney’s office said.
Jones and Guy Rivera were inside a car in Far Rockaway on March 25, 2024, when they were approached by Jonathan Diller and other NYPD officers, according to authorities. Rivera pulled a gun and shot Diller, a Massapequa Park father of two.
