George C. Schmidt Jr., 75, Of Wappingers Falls
WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. — George C. Schmidt, Jr., of Wappingers Falls, died Nov. 15. He was 75.Born June 1, 1941, in Tarrytown, he was the son of the late George C. and Eleanor (Straube) Schmidt.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was employed as an auto mechanic at Pleasantville Ford for more than 30 years until his retirement in 2003. On May 6, 1989, in Hastings-on-Hudson, he married Sandra Dean Schmidt, who survives at home.

Carmine Licursi, 91, Of Rochelle Park
ROCHELLE PARK, N.J. -- Carmine Licursi, of Rochelle Park, died Wednesday, Nov. 16. He was 91.
Before retiring, he worked as the director of production services at Singer Kearfott in Little Falls for 38 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran who served our country proudly during World War II and was awarded the French Legion of Honor, was a recipient of the Purple Heart with one Oak Leaf Cluster, was awarded the Bronze Star and received the New Jersey Distinguished Service Medal with Cluster. NORWOOD, N.J. -- Louise G. McArthur, of Norwood, died Tuesday, Nov. 15. She was 71.
She worked for Hewlett Packard in Paramus for many years. In retirement, she and her husband enjoyed being members of Forest Glen in Naples, Fla. She also was a member of the Ramapo Ski Club for more than 20 years.
She is survived by her husband, Howard; children, Ann Capazzi and her husband Louis and Thomas and his wife Christine; grandchildren, Louis, Courtney, Michael, Ryan, Sean and Ava; and siblings, Martha Teague and husband Bill and the late Fred Mitschke.

FISHKILL, N.Y. -- Kathryn J. Schroeder, of Fishkill, died Nov. 14. She was 92.
She was born April 6, 1924, in Queens Village, Long Island. She moved to the Mid-Hudson Valley in 1952, living primarily in Wappinger Falls for 44 years and Fishkill for 20 years. She was the daughter of the late Anthony J. Becker and Theresa Heller Becker.
She was married June 3, 1950, in Middle Village, Long Island, to Arthur H. Schroeder, who predeceased her Nov. 16, 1981.

RED HOOK, N.Y. -- James Donald Kilgour, Jr., of Red Hook, died Tuesday, Nov. 15. He was 86.
He was born June 18, 1930, in Kittanning, Pa., the son of the late James Donald Kilgour Sr. and the late Barbara (Schlegel) Kilgour.
He married Shirley A. Doyle in 1953. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War from 1951-55. He was awarded metals for Nation Defense Service and Good Conduct. He was later employed by IBM in Kingston as a production manager.

ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. -- Rose A. Norris, of Elmwood Park, died Monday Nov. 7.
She was born Feb. 27, 1923, in Paterson and lived in Haledon before settling in Elmwood Park for the past 48 years.
She worked for the Bergen County Board of Social Services in Rochelle Park for 20 years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of the Elmwood Park Senior Leisure Club, A.A.R.P. , Elmwood Park Chapter and the Elmwood Park Senior Center.

FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. -- Carl Fuhr, of Franklin Lakes, died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016.
Born and raised in Prospect Park, he moved to Franklin Lakes in January 1965. He was a self-employed custom cabinet maker operating Fuhr Built Cabinets in Hawthorne from 1955 until he retired in 2001. He was a life member of the Prospect Park Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as chief in 1964. He attended the Grace Bible Church in North Haledon. John H. 'Jack' Riley, 89, Of Wyckoff
WYCKOFF, N.J. -- John H. “Jack” Riley, of Wyckoff, died Nov. 15. He was 89.
Born in Paterson, he was a longtime resident of Wyckoff.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. His career in education was spent at Fair Lawn High School and Indian Hills High School, the latter as principal. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman.
