Students Evaluated, Treated After Chemical Exposure At Middle School In Hudson Valley
Multiple students were treated following a chemical exposure at a Northern Westchester middle school, fire officials said. The incident happened on Friday afternoon, Nov. 15, when the incident was reported at Fox Lane Middle School in Bedford, according to the Bedford Fire Department. Arriving fire crews began isolating and ventilating the affected room while the Westchester County Hazmat team sent a representative to the scene. Two men and a woman were killed in a random stabbing spree in Manhattan that left one other person seriously injured. A suspect, identified as Ramon Rivera, age 51, was apprehended with two kitchen knives and clothes stained in blood after the incidents happened late Monday morning, Nov. 18, according to NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny. A man sustained serious injuries, and his passenger died after a single-car crash in the region. It happened in Dutchess County around 7:10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, in Pleasant Valley. Acting on a tip, the FBI and local law enforcement charged a person with allegedly making a bomb threat against a high school in the region. The incident occurred in Dutchess County on Sunday, Nov. 17. Beloved Deputy Sheriff In Dutchess County Known For His Love Of Dinosaurs Dies
A much beloved deputy sheriff in the region known for being a part-time comedian and his love of dinosaurs has died after a courageous battle with cancer. Nicholas Gasparre, age 36, a lifelong Hudson Valley resident, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, Nov. 15, surrounded by his family, friends, and his brothers and sisters of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office. He began serving the country as a volunteer firefighter for the Beekman Fire District.
