Reynaldo Collado, 49, was tragically killed on Sept. 22, 2024, when his vehicle was struck by Felix Jose Pantaleon Tavarez, 22, who faces manslaughter and related charges for the crash. Ward, a District resident, had been a staple in the community for years, having reported for NBC, as well as local station WTOP after getting his start in upstate New York .  He has been covering his hometown community since 2006.
