The watch is in effect until 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12 in the counties shown in yellow. In New York, those counties are: Sullivan Allegany Broome Catttaragugus Cayuga Chautauqua Chemung Chenango Cortland Delaware Livingston Madison Oneida Onondaga Ontario Oswego Otsego Schuyler Seneca Steuben Sullivan Tioga Tompkins Wayne  Yates The time frame for the most severe storms from the system began at 5 p.m. and will last through around 9 p.m. Saturday. Severe Thunderstorm Watch In Effect For Much Of Region With a round of storms moving from west to east in interior portions of the region, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for much of the area. The watch is in effect until 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4. A radar image of the region above from 2:45 p.m. Friday shows the storms.
