A Long Island man is facing decades in prison after admitting to fatally shooting two people inside a home. Brian Cordovano, age 50, of Ronkonkoma and formerly of Bay Shore, was arrested following a traffic stop in Smithtown, on Columbus Avenue, just before noontime on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023. A New York man accused of murdering the mother of his child should’ve been locked up years ago, his own relatives insist. Long Island resident Brenda Guadalupe Alfaro-Alcantara, age 29, was found with multiple stab wounds in the basement of her Hempstead home on Botsford Street at around 8:40 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5. Authorities are hoping new details about a male victim in the Gilgo Beach serial murders case – and a cash reward – will lead to his identification. On Long Island, the Gilgo Beach Task Force released details about clothing that was worn by the so-called “Asian Doe,” whose skeletal remains were found along Ocean Parkway in Gilgo Beach on April 4, 2011. A house guest has been apprehended shortly after an overnight murder at a Long Island residence. Southampton Town Police responded to Oakville Avenue in East Quogue after a man called 911 to report a person was found dead in the rear yard of the residence at around 9:50 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28.
