Swimmer Drowns At Long Island Beach A 54-year-old man died after being pulled from the water at a Long Island beach. Emergency crews in Southampton were called shortly before 3 p.m. Monday, June 24, for a drowning victim at Altenkirch County Park, located in the hamlet of Hampton Bays near Dune Road and Road H. Another beachgoer removed the man from the water and performed CPR, but he was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Southampton Town Police identified the man as Peter Dzakonski, of Hampton Bays. A second man at the beach was also hospitalized after reporting chest pain and difficulty breathing.

Hit-Run Driver Injures 2 Employees Outside Long Island Campus Two employees are hospitalized following a hit-and-run crash outside a Long Island school. The incident happened at around 8:30 a.m. Monday, June 24, in the parking lot of Eastern Suffolk BOCES in North Bellport, located on Martha Avenue. Suffolk County Police said a driver struck a 31-year-old Coram man and a 41-year-old Ronkonkoma woman as they walked through the parking lot. The driver then fled the scene. The Coram man was taken by ambulance to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue and treated for serious injuries. The Ronkonkoma woman was taken to the same hospital for non-life…

Man Electrocuted, Another Injured At Long Island Ice Skating Rink A man was electrocuted while working at an ice rink on Long Island in an incident that required him to be airlifted and left a second person injured. The Bellmore incident occurred on Friday, June 14, Nassau County Police said. At about 11:30 a.m., a 62-year-old man was working in the electrical service room of 2600 Newbridge Road, the site of the Newbridge Arena. While he was working, he got electrocuted, causing burns on his arms and stomach. A second man, age 39, attempted to help him, however, he suffered burns to his arm while doing so. Teenage Trio Hospitalized After Rollover Crash On Parkway Exit Ramp In Westchester Three teenagers from Long Island were hospitalized after a rollover crash on a busy parkway exit ramp in Westchester that caused a several-hour-long closure, police said. The crash happened on Monday, June 3 around 7:40 p.m., when a vehicle rolled over adjacent to the exit ramp leading from the westbound Cross County Parkway to Yonkers Avenue in Yonkers, according to Westchester County Police Public Information Officer Kieran O'Leary.  The car had been occupied by an 18-year-old driver and two passengers aged 17 and 19.
