Taxi Driver Mugged By Teen Trio In Nassau County: Police A taxi driver was robbed and attacked by three teens during a ride in West Hempstead, Nassau County police announced on Saturday, Feb. 1. The 21-year-old driver was transporting the suspects near June Place and Theresa Avenue at 9 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31, when they allegedly turned on him, police said. The trio assaulted the driver before stealing cash from the center console and fleeing on foot. A man entered the Chase branch in Shirley, located at 645 Northbound William Floyd Parkway, at about 3:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, and handed the teller a note demanding cash, according to Suffolk County Police. The teller complied and the suspect fled with cash. The robber was described as a white man with brown hair, who appeared to be in his 40s. He was wearing a dark-hooded sweatshirt and dark pants. Burglar Sought After Stealing Cash From Long Island Business Police are investigating after a burglar made off with over $1,000 from a Long Island business. The break-in happened in Oyster Bay at the Lee’s Laundromat on South Street sometime overnight Monday, Sept. 9. Nassau County Police said someone pried open a rear door before stealing approximately $1,500 in cash. They then fled in an unknown direction. No description of the suspect was given. Suffolk County Police said the break-ins occurred at around 5:30 a.m. Thursday, May 2, in Lindenhurst, at two businesses on Wellwood Avenue.
