Pedestrian Fighting For Life After Late-Night Nassau Car Crash: Police
A Long Island pedestrian was critically injured in a car crash on Sunday night, Aug. 2, police said. The 44-year-old man was walking across North Main Street near Prince Avenue in Freeport around 10 p.m., the Nassau County Police Department said. A 30-year-old man driving a 2018 Buick Encore northbound on North Main Street struck the man in the road, investigators said. The pedestrian was seriously injured in the crash and rushed to a local hospital, authorities said. The Buick driver remained at the scene to cooperate, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
