Crash Causes Hours-Long Road Closure In Region A serious traffic crash in the Hudson Valley is causing an hours-long road closure. The crash occurred in Rockland County early on Friday, Sept. 13, on Route 45 in Ramapo. According to the Ramapo Police, Orange & Rockland Utilities will close Route 45 at Rensselaer and New Hempstead for the next 8 to 12 hours while working on repairs.  The department is asking drivers to plan an alternative route. There is no word from the police on the status of any injuries.  This is a developing story. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.

Man From Region Caught Spray Painting American/Israeli Flag, Police Say A Hudson Valley man was caught in the act of allegedly defacing a joint American/Israeli flag with spray paint, police said. The incident occurred in Rockland County around 4:20 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3, in the Monsey area of Ramapo. According to Lt. Chris Franklin of the Ramapo Police, a patrol officer spotted the man wearing a face mask while walking on Main Street in Monsey. He watched as the man, identified as Benzion Rivlin, age 33, of Monsey, approached a joint American and Israeli flag on the property of a business located at 45 Main St., Franklin said. Hudson Valley Man Convicted Of Molesting Child A Hudson Valley man faces up to seven years in prison for sexually molesting a 9-year-old girl for three years. Rockland County resident, Elmer Oviedo-Sandoval, age 47, of Haverstraw, was convicted on Monday, Aug. 12, after a two week jury trial. 4 Nabbed For DWI On Midnight Shift In Hudson Valley Town Police in a Hudson Valley town were busy on the midnight shift, making four arrests for alleged driving while intoxicated. The arrests occurred in Rockland County in Ramapo on Saturday, June 22.
