Car Rolls Over On Road In Region, Causes Temporary Closure
One lane of a Hudson Valley road was temporarily closed after a car flipped, firefighters said. The crash happened in Putnam County on Friday, Oct. 18 just before 8 a.m., when a vehicle flipped at the intersection of Hill Street and Lakeside Road in Mahopac, according to the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department. Arriving first responders evaluated the driver. However, they declined any medical attention. One lane of traffic was closed for a short time while crews operated at the crash scene. The cause of the crash was not released.

Beloved Firefighter Dies After Over 25 Years Of Service In Region
A Hudson Valley fire department is mourning the loss of one of its active members who served his community for more than a quarter of a century. The death of Robert "Link" Linkenhoker was announced by Putnam County's Brewster Fire Department on Wednesday, Oct. 16. His age and cause of death were not made public. According to the department, Linkenhoker joined the department in 1998 and continued serving up to his death. Man Rescued After Crashing 60 Feet Down Into Rocky Embankment In Region
A man had to be carried around 60 feet up a rocky Hudson Valley gorge after crashing into it, authorities said. The crash happened in Putnam County on Sunday, Oct. 6, when an all-terrain vehicle crashed down a cliff in Cold Spring at the gorge on Mill Road, according to the North Highlands Fire Department. Arriving firefighters soon made their way to the cliff and packaged the man into a stokes basket before carrying him around 60 feet up the ledge to an awaiting ambulance. A Hudson Valley man has been accused of driving recklessly on Long Island. Suffolk County Police say they observed a purple 2023 Dodge Charger doing donuts in the hamlet of Shirley at around 1:40 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 6 at the intersection of Montauk Highway and William Floyd Parkway. Two several-hundred-acre land parcels have been added to a popular state park spanning two counties in the Hudson Valley, officials announced. In an announcement on Thursday, Oct. 3, New York Gov. A vehicle was left on its side following a crash in the Hudson Valley that caused an hour-long road closure. The crash happened in Putnam County on Friday afternoon, Oct. 4, when vehicles collided on Starr Ridge Road near Danbury Road (Route 202) in Brewster, according to the Brewster Fire Department.
