Suspects On Loose After Smash-Grab Bellmore Jewelry Store Robbery In Broad Daylight Suspects are on the run after a smash-and-grab burglary at a Long Island store that happened in broad daylight. According to Nassau County Police, the multiple unknown subjects entered Philip Joseph Jewelers in Bellmore, located at 2776 Sunrise Highway, at about 12:50 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22.  They began smashing the glass display cases with sledgehammers and removing assorted jewelry before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction. It happened in Roosevelt on Tuesday, July 9, according to Nassau County Police. At around 3 p.m. that day, a 76-year-old woman was walking on Nassau Avenue near the intersection of Debevoise Avenue with her groceries. A man approached her and asked if she needed help carrying her groceries home. She happily obliged, police said.
