Nassau County Man Arrested After Probation Visit Uncovers Drugs, Loaded Gun: Police
A probation visit turned into a significant arrest when police found drugs, cash, and a loaded handgun at a Long Island home.
According to Nassau County Police, the incident occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 8 p.m., when officers were assisting Nassau County Probation with a visit to an East Meadow residence and discovered Benjamin Ramirez Munoz, age 22, of Westbury, living there illegally and violating the terms of his probation.
A further investigation revealed cocaine, heroin, cash, and a loaded .38 caliber handgun inside the home, police said. Munoz was arrested without incident.

Man Fleeing Traffic Stop Acussed Of Firing Gun Toward Nassau County Police
A Lynbrook man is facing multiple charges, including felony criminal possession of a firearm, after fleeing a traffic stop and firing a shot during his arrest in Elmont early Sunday, Dec. 8, Nassau County police announced.
Antonio Lam, 30, of the 180 block of Atlantic Avenue, was stopped for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation near Hoeffner Avenue and Pelham Street at 12:50 a.m., detectives said. During the stop, Lam fled on foot and was apprehended near Carnegie Avenue, according to police.

Police Break Up Street Takeover, Issue 31 Summonses, Make Arrest In Nassau County
A large-scale street takeover led to an arrest and multiple summonses on Long Island after police discovered the disturbance.
Nassau County Police said officers on routine patrol around 9:35 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, found what appeared to be an illegal vehicle rally and possible street takeover in Uniondale, near 711 Stewart Ave.
Additional units were called to assist, including the Bureau of Special Operations, Aviation Unit, Criminal Intelligence Rapid Response Team (CIRRT), and Emergency Service Unit.

Duo Nabbed For String Of Suffolk County ATM Burglaries
Two men have been accused of burglarizing multiple businesses and stealing ATMs on Long Island.
Following an investigation by Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives, the two were arrested and charged with a series of commercial burglaries and an attempted burglary between Tuesday, March 5, and Monday, March 11.
During the burglaries, police say, John Mahoney, 41, of Mastic, and Jamie Volini, age 46, of East Patchogue, forced entry through broken doors and windows into closed gas stations and businesses and damaged or stole the ATMs.
