The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and public health officials are investigating infections linked to recalled Yu Shang Food ready-to-eat meat and poultry products. The illnesses were in New York, New Jersey, California, and Illinois between Wednesday, July 31 and Thursday, Oct. 24, the agency said. 3 Hospitalized After House Fire In Region Three people were rescued from a burning Hudson Valley home and hospitalized, firefighters said. The blaze happened in Putnam County on Tuesday, Nov. 5 just after midnight, when flames went up on a home's porch in the Lake Secor area of Mahopac, according to the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department. 23-Year-Old Found Shot In Broad Daylight In Region A man was found shot on a city street during an incident between several people in the region. The fight occurred in Dutchess County at 6:20 p.m. on Thursday, Oct 24, on Mill Street in Beacon. According to Beacon Police Chief Thomas Figlia, officers found the injured 23-year-old Beacon resident on the street; all parties were still on the scene. SUV Crashes Down Embankment In Region A driver was hospitalized after their vehicle plunged down an embankment in the Hudson Valley.  The crash happened in Putnam County on Saturday, Sept. 7, when an SUV crashed into the woods at around 1:40 a.m. in the area of Nicholas Way in Mahopac, according to the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department.  Arriving fire crews found that the driver had managed to escape the vehicle on their own after the crash. Serious Crash In Region Leaves Rider In Critical Condition A person was hospitalized in critical condition following a serious crash in the Hudson Valley that caused an hours-long road closure.  The crash happened in Putnam County on Friday, Aug. 30 at around 5 p.m., when a motorcycle crashed on Route 22 near the intersection with Route 311, according to Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police.  The motorcyclist was later taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, Hicks said.  Route 22 in the crash area was closed until around 8 p.m. on Friday as authorities investigated the incident.
