Former Fox Affiliate TV Anchor Admits To Stabbing Mother To Death
A former local television news anchor whose career included several stations across the country has admitted to a crime that could keep her behind bars for decades.
Angelynn “Angie” Mock, 48, pleaded guilty Friday, Aug. 21, to first-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of her 80-year-old mother, Anita Avers, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office. Mock faces a presumptive life sentence with eligibility for parole after 25 years.
Her sentencing is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 5.

An accused pedophile has admitted groping three children at a Long Island T.J. Maxx, authorities said Thursday, Aug. 27.
Jimmy Harry Velasquez Gomez, 44, of Mastic, pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree sexual abuse in a plea deal, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office said. The deal calls for a six-year prison term, authorities said.
Additionally, Velasquez Gomez faces deportation to his native Honduras upon his release, according to federal officials. He will also be required to register as a sex offender in New York, prosecutors said.

The body of Conor Anderson, 31, was found by Covert Results PI firm, which revealed details of the search on Wednesday, Aug. 26.

Two cocaine dealers were busted while driving through the Hamptons earlier this year, police announced Monday, Aug. 24.
Juan Carlos Gonzalez Cuautle, 47, and Byron Antonio Penafiel Rivera, 41, were pulled over in a Jeep around 2 a.m. Saturday, June 13 on Montauk Highway in East Hampton, the East Hampton Town Police Department said.
