A newly named, rapidly strengthening tropical storm is likely to become the first hurricane of the 2024 season. Tropical Storm Beryl, the second named storm since the season began on Saturday, June 1, is now located about 820 miles east-southeast of Barbados. Get set for what could potentially be one of the most active hurricane seasons ever, according to a brand-new forecast by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) forecasters at the Climate Prediction Center.
