Seen Him? Alert Issued For Missing Long Island Man
Police are asking for help in locating a Long Island man who was reported missing. Charles Cacoque, age 82, was last seen in the village of Freeport walking southbound on Babylon Turnpike at around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 17. Nassau County Police said Cacoque has dementia and may be in need of medical attention. He is 6 feet tall and 165 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a plaid button up shirt, blue jeans, black shoes, and is possibly wearing a baseball cap. Police said Cacoque may have traveled to Manhattan or Brooklyn. Alert Issued For 13-Year-Old Long Island Girl Missing 4 Days
Police are asking for help in locating a Long Island teenager who has been missing for several days. Jayla Cardwood-Henry, age 13, was last seen leaving her Hempstead home on Saturday, July 13, according to Nassau County Police. Investigators said she may have traveled to Brooklyn. Cardwood-Henry is 5-foot-5 and 125 pounds, with brown curly hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a light blue t-shirt and dark colored cargo pants. Fireball Traveling 34,000 MPH Over NYC Caused Loud Boom Heard Across Tristate: NASA
The mysterious boom heard and felt across the tristate area may have been caused by a meteor passing through the area, NASA says. Locals reported hearing thunder-like booms and rattling just after 11:20 a.m. Tuesday, July 16. The USGS ruled out earthquakes, and residents across the tri-state reported witnessing fireballs to the American Meteor Society. 2 Men Dead In Separate Drownings At Long Island Homes
Two men have died following separate drowning incidents in residential swimming pools on Long Island. The first incident happened at an East Northport home on Ketay Drive South shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday, July 4. Suffolk County Police said John Vormbaum, age 79, was found unresponsive in a pool. An officer performed CPR, but Vormbaum was pronounced dead at Huntington Hospital. A 42-year-old postal employee is being accused of stealing thousands of dollars in checks from a Long Island mail facility. Dendrick Emery, age 42, from Brooklyn, was charged on Wednesday, June 5, with grand larceny and other crimes.
