NY Teacher Arrested For Sex Crime Charges Out Of VA: State Police
A 45-year-old teacher from Amherst, NY (Erie County) has been arrested for sex crimes stemming from Virginia, authorities said. Geoffrey J. Testa was arrested on a warrant for multiple felony child exploitation charges out of Fairfax, VA on Friday, Jan. 31, the New York State Police said. Testa is a teacher at Amherst Central High School. He was processed and taken to Erie County Holding Center on the arrest warrant awaiting extradition. Dating App Message With Child Porn Leads To Conviction Of Ex-Capital Region Resident
A former resident in the region is facing years behind bars after admitting to sending child pornography on a dating app. Tyreik Blackmon, age 30, formerly of Schenectady, pleaded guilty to child sex crimes in Schenectady County Court on Tuesday, Nov. 26. Prosecutors said Blackmon, who also goes by “Elise,” admitted to sending a sexually explicit video and photo of a child to another person via an online dating app in November 2023. A 29-year-old man from the region is facing decades in prison after being convicted of sexually abusing a young child for years. Douglas Eckler, of Cohoes, was found guilty of sex crimes by a jury in Albany County Supreme Court on Wednesday, Oct. 18. According to prosecutors, Eckler repeatedly sexually abused the victim for several years, between the spring of 2020 and February 2023. The abuse started when the victim was under the age of 13. Man Trades Pot For Sex With 13-Year-Old In Capital Region, Police Say
A 35-year-old man from the region is accused of bribing an underage teen for sex. Saratoga County resident Justin Pringle, of Clifton Park, was arrested on sex crime and other charges Thursday, Aug. 10, according to New York State Police. It came after investigators were tipped off that he was having inappropriate contact with a child in Clifton Park. 22-Year-Old Accused Of Sexually Abusing Child In Region
A 22-year-old man has been accused of sexually abusing a child in the region. After receiving a law enforcement tip, New York State Police in Columbia County from the Livingston barracks began investigating possible sex crimes against a child in the town of Copake in January 2023.
