Saratoga County Man To Spend Years In Prison For Violent Sexual Attack
A Capital Region man found guilty by a jury of a violent 2023 attack and sexual assault faces up to 25 years in prison.
Saratoga County resident Michael Pelletier of Moreau was convicted on Wednesday, Sept. 25, for the Saturday, June 24, 2023 attack, said Saratoga County District Attorney Karen A. Heggen.
According to court documents and testimony, Pelletier violently assaulted a 32-year-old woman, physically and sexually, inside his home with children present.
The woman, who was injured all over her body, was transported to Saratoga Hospital for her injuries.

Duo Traded Vapes For Sexually Explicit Photos Of Underage Girls In Capital Region, Police Say
Two people are facing charges after allegedly convincing underage girls in the region to send them sexually explicit images in exchange for nicotine products.
Michael May, age 24, and Tomassina May, age 67, both of Saratoga Springs, were arrested Monday, Jan. 9, following a months-long investigation by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies began looking into the pair, whose relationship was not immediately clear, after receiving numerous complaints that Michael May had used social media to contact underage girls in Wilton, Northumberland, Moreau, and Saratoga Springs.

Capital District Man Accused Of Raping Child Under Age 17, Police Say
A Capital District man is facing charges for allegedly raping a child under the age of 17.
Saratoga County resident Siatar Creech, age 36, of Northumberland, was arrested on a warrant Monday, Sept. 12, following an investigation by New York State Police.
Creech is accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with the underage victim on multiple occasions in the town of Moreau, beginning in early 2022, police said.
He was arraigned as the Ballston Spa Village Court on charges of third-degree child rape and criminal sexual act, both felonies.

Traffic Stop Leads To Felony Drug Charges For Capital District Man
A traffic stop in the Capital District ended with a man jailed on felony drug charges, authorities said.
State Police in Saratoga County stopped William Boyd, age 38, of Niskayuna, at around 9:40 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29, on I-87 in the town of Moreau.
Troopers had initially stopped Boyd for violating vehicle and traffic laws, police said.
During their interaction, however, troopers determined that he was in possession of a large quantity of cocaine, according to police.
Boyd was arrested on felony charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
