A former dog groomer accused of violently slamming a small, elderly dog onto a metal table at a Westchester County dog daycare has been arraigned on an animal cruelty charge, prosecutors said.
Peekskill resident Cole Kamrath, 29, pleaded not guilty to animal cruelty, a misdemeanor, in Mount Kisco Town Court on Thursday, Sept. 24, the Westchester County District Attorney's Office announced on Friday, Sept. 25.

A Pennsylvania man who survived being shot twice during the 2024 assassination attempt on President Donald Trump has died two years after the attack.
James “Jim” Copenhaver, 76, of Moon Township, Allegheny County, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, according to the Republican Committee of Allegheny County. His death was announced publicly Thursday, Sept. 24, by U.S. House Republicans. A cause of death has not been released.

A Hudson Valley man has admitted to stabbing a stranger in the neck on Long Island, authorities said.
Robert Brozowski, 35, of Yonkers, pleaded guilty to first-degree assault for the attack in Babylon, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office said.
Brozowski is expected to get 18 years in prison at his sentencing hearing Wednesday, Oct. 28, the DA’s office said. Prosecutors dropped an attempted murder charge in the plea deal, according to online court records.
