Mother From Region Nabbed For Beating Kids With Foam Baseball Bat, Police Say A Hudson Valley mother has been charged with allegedly beating her two children with a foam baseball bat, causing injuries. The incident occurred in Rockland County around 2:20 a.m., Monday, Oct. 7, in Stony Point. According to Lt. Daniel Schoales of the Stony Point Police, officers responded to Nyack Hospital to investigate a domestic incident. Man Drowns In Lake During Outing With Family In Region A man on an outing with his family at Harriman State Park drowned after jumping into the lake and swimming about 100 feet away. The incident occurred in Rockland County around 6:30 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 18, at Lake Sebago in Stony Point. Body Recovered After Person Jumps From Bear Mountain Bridge A body was recovered after a person jumped from the Bear Mountain Bridge. The incident happened around 1 p.m. Friday, May 17. The body of the victim was recovered from the Hudson River near Stony Point, according to Trooper A.J. Hicks of the New York State Police. The identity of the person has not yet been released.
