Gunman Fires Shot During Hudson Valley Gas Station Robbery A man armed with a handgun stormed into a Hudson Valley gas station early Tuesday morning, July 22, firing a round into the floor and fleeing with cash, police said. The Ulster County incident happened around 3:15 a.m. at the Sunoco located at 3600 Route 9W in Highland, according to the Town of Lloyd Police Department. The suspect entered the store, brandished a handgun, and demanded money from the register. At one point during the robbery, he discharged the weapon into the floor. New York Lottery officials said the ticket was sold at the Quick Chek store on Route 9W in Newburgh in Orange County. The winning numbers were 06-15-18-33-49 with a Powerball of 7.  The unidentified player had to select four correct numbers and the Powerball to win the third prize.  No word yet on who the winner is. The Powerball drawing is televised every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 11 p.m.

Kayla Jones, of the Bronx, was charged with grand larceny on Tuesday, Dec. 10, after security video showed a purple-haired woman wearing a black sweatshirt and grey pants, get into the car at the Stony Point Budget Inn and drive away on Route 9W, said Lt. Woman From Region Gets 6 Months In Jail For Double-Fatal Hit-Run Crash A woman has been sentenced to six months in jail for the double-fatal, hit-and-run crash in the region.  Orange County resident Angela Fischl, age 25, of Newburgh, pleaded guilty to two counts of leaving the scene of an incident resulting in death on Tuesday, Oct. 15, Following her plea, she was sentenced to five years probation and six months in the Ulster County Jail. Her driver’s license was also revoked, said Ulster County District Attorney Emmanuel Nneji.
