The Trump administration will only admit 7,500 refugees into the US, with most slots reserved for white South Africans, sparking backlash from advocates and civil rights groups. The refugee cap was revealed in a memo published in the Federal Register on Thursday, Oct. 30. A South Carolina woman will spend months in jail for sending violent and racially charged threats to a Hudson Valley man. Kristin Keeble, 54, of Pageland, South Carolina, admitted to sending a series of hate-fueled voice messages via Facebook Messenger in October 2023, threatening to kill a Catskill man – along with a woman he knew and her children, according to the US Attorney’s Office.
